Career Goals

I have a professional background of being a dentist in India, having worked for about 9 months in a dental clinic and the reason that I chose Crime Scene Investigation as my concentration in the Master’s degree offered at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia, is because I want to be able to integrate the skills of investigating with my knowledge of Forensic Odontology/ Dentistry.  A forensic odontologist works in the similar manner as a general crime scene investigator, with the exception that the former, has education and background of dentistry, and concentrates on dental evidence and remains. As Keiser Nielson (1970)  said, “ forensic odontology, is the branch of forensic medicine which in the interest of justice deals with the proper handling and examination of dental evidence and with the proper evaluation and presentation of the dental findings”.
