Writing Sample from FRSC 510

FRSC 510 is the Basic Crime Scene Analysis course offered by the Forensic Science Program at George Mason University in the Crime Scene Investigation concentration. In this class, we, the students are taught how to write notes, take pictures and make rough & final sketches of the crime scene, as well as make crime scene reports which include different sections such as Incident overview, Preliminary scene survey, Evidence collection and documentation, Victim removal, Final scene documentation, Autopsy, Evidence Processing and Request for Laboratory Examination. It basically laid the foundation for us by learning about the nitty-gritty things involved in this field of science. This class also taught us how to work efficiently as a Crime scene investigator which includes testifying in the court of law at least a couple of times each year. An example of a crime scene report I wrote for this class as an assignment, is attached below.
